CAR'S BLOG: the VW 1303 RS

One of my friends always asked me to publish anything about the VW beetle, and at last i found this. the VW 1303 RS that was built and driven in a way that makes it unique as any other car. you would expect high horsepower, dialed in suspension, wide wheels and overall vib from a porshe 911 and not from an air cooled beetle. this car has a website dedicated to it but in german. so i searched until i found it written in english on speedhunters blog. the car was built on a 1973 1303 "super beetle" chasis, and it sees action on streets, racing tracks and even in drifting events

the car has a type 4 VW beetle engine of 2.4L producing 182 hp. it also has a pair of 48IDF Weber carburetors plus K & N airFilters, also the Cylinder heads and crankshafts are processed among other additions such as : oil cooler, transistor ignition, stainless steel exhaust cup. it is also found that the car compression is 10:1. this speeding bullet has a top speed aorund 200km/h and fires from 0 to 100 in 5.5 sec.

the car has a VW 1303 RS adjustable height, front and rear stabilizers mounted in aluminium, Front: Koni, rear: Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs.
Inside is a full roll cage, Recaro bucket seat, and a suede Momo wheel. Not things you typically find in a car like this...

giving the car an aggressive, track-ready look are a set of 15x8.5 BBS wheels with 195/45/15 tires.

It's always special when someone can take a universally-known car like the VW Beetle and make something that truly stands out.
